He was the winner of Art Film Fest’s competition. The original task was only to create a visual identity for the appealing film section Dancing 80’s, which will be personally presented by choreographer and dancer Ján Ďurovčík. But his attractive plan encompassed the entire festival. “I created a story of seventeen – a couple going through the dance process from beginning to end. It presents the constituent elements of the American dance film phenomenon, including forms of dance characteristic of particular films and the films’ thematic motifs,” clarified Juraj Meszáros, graphic designer of the 17th Annual Art Film Fest. “I chose the composition and the collection of elements that would have the shortest possible path to the audience. The background is made up of original clothes from the 1980s, which in their details represent the festival curtain, which will, as always, open for visitors with fanfare and lustre,” added the young artist, who created this visual theme to target festival visitors, who are above all film enthusiasts and connoisseurs. “I would also include myself in this group, and that was my main reason for participating in this project,” said Meszáros. This logo in motion in the form of a video was created by the well-known Slovak animated filmmakers Michal Struss and Ivana Zajacová. “We used the graphic theme that was designed for the entire Art Film Fest as a jumping-off point. With this spot, we want to further the leitmotif of this year’s Art Film Fest – the dance film section.
