Art Film Fest’s Bridge of Fame to be Closer to the People

Every year, the ceremony enjoys great success among festival visitors, film professionals and festival guests, international and Slovak alike. “The number of awarded stars is constantly growing; we are accumulating both commemorative plaques and visitors to the ceremony and the film festival. That is why we have sought out a worthy venue for the awards ceremony, where more people could fit and which festival visitors and guests could have constant access to. We will move the bestowing of the Actor’s Mission Award to the centre of the life of the town’s inhabitants and visitors, to the Spa Park area,” explained Art Film Fest’s producer Ján Kováčik. Thus, according to Kováčik, there will be ample space for famous stars to place new commemorative brass tablets, and moreover, the inviting commemorative venue will be that much closer to the people. At the same time, the act itself will not disrupt Trenčianske Teplice’s traffic. Art Film Fest is known not only for exceptional films, but for personalities as well.  Every year, the festival is visited by stars of the silver screen who personally accept the Actor’s Mission Award. Art Film Fest has awarded performers for their extraordinary contributions to film acting since 1995. The ceremony also includes fixing a bronze plaque bearing the star’s name to the Bridge of Fame in Trenčianske Teplice. The Actor’s Mission Award has been accepted by thirty-eight prominent international and Slovak performers, and at this year’s 17^th Art Film Fest, two more will be added. The first laureate of the Actor’s Mission Award was Italian actor Franco Nero, in 1995. To this day, nearly forty Slovak, Czech and international performers have come to personally accept the Actor’s Mission Award. The list of laureates glitters with world-famous names such as Geraldine Chaplin, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Gina Lollobrigida, Catherine Deneuve and Ornella Muti.
