The 32nd edition of the ART FILM International Film Festival (IFF ART FILM) will take place from June 19 to 26, 2026, in Košice. Film enthusiasts can once again look forward to a wide range of competitive sections – including the International Feature Film Competition, the International Short Film Competition, the International Central and Eastern European Film Competition, and the International FIPRESCI Award Competition – as well as over ten non-competitive sections of IFF ART FILM. The organizers expect more than 130 films to be presented this year.
In all competitive categories, the Blue Angel award is presented to the best film, accompanied by a cash prize. The International Feature Film Competition is open to directors presenting their first, second, or third feature-length film, and also includes prizes for Best Director, as well as Best Female and Male Performance.
The International Short Film Competition has no genre restrictions and welcomes fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental works. The only limitation is that the film must not exceed 30 minutes.
The International Central and Eastern European Film Competition is dedicated to feature-length films from selected countries, regardless of genre or the film’s position within the director’s filmography.
Continuing from last year, the International FIPRESCI Award Competition showcases films selected by the festival’s programming team. The jury traditionally consists of international film critics, journalists, and cinema scholars, who evaluate films presented in the festival’s official competitions. The FIPRESCI Award is regarded as one of the most prestigious honors in the field of cinematic art.
Film submissions are open from January 10, 2026. Filmmakers can submit their films to the first three competitive sections via the submission form at: https://iffartfilm.com/en/submit-film/
