There was also a great number of guests hosted this year at the 18th Art Film Fest. In total there were 416, including 76 filmmakers and film professionals from abroad. 175 journalists were accredited at the festival, and the number of registered students reached 2 493. Altogether, Art Film Fest featured 240 films from 48 countries, and audiences had the chance to attend 270 film screenings. In light of the high quality of the competing films, the feature-film and short-film juries each decided to grant two special mention prizes, raising the total number of film awards to twelve. The Blue Angel for best film was awarded to the Russian picture How I Ended This Summer (d. A. Popogrebsky), and the On the Road Award for best short film was won by the British film Viera (d. P. Wright). The next, 19th edition of Art Film Fest will be held from 17 to 25 June, 2011 in Trenčianske Teplice and Trenčín.
