This year\u2019s Art Film Fest will continue the tradition of awarding notable film-industry personages, but this time in Ko\u0161ice, the urban centre of East Slovakia. The festival organizers have announced two laureates thus far: Czech actor Karel Roden and British director\/screenwriter Stephen Daldry. \u201cKarel Roden has long been among the Czech and international acting elite. There\u2019s no doubt about that. He is no less well known as someone who values his privacy, doesn\u2019t concern himself with journalists and avoids publicity \u2013 another reason why we\u2019re so glad that he has chosen to accept our award\u201d, says Peter N\u00e1gel, explaining the nomination.<\/p>\n
