During the round anniversary of our festival, directors Miloslav Luther<\/strong> and Cristi Puiu<\/strong> received the Golden Camera award. However, the Actor’s Mission award, which will be presented this year, apart from actress Ant\u00f3nia Li\u0161kov\u00e1,<\/strong> also by Maro\u0161 Kram\u00e1r<\/strong>, is an inseparable part of Art Film as well.<\/p>\n

Maro\u0161 Kram\u00e1r<\/strong> was born on 26 April 1959 in Bratislava and has been devoted to acting since childhood. In his first theatrical experience he played the role of the Boy in the production of Nov\u00e1 sc\u00e9na theatre called Mnoho kriku pre ni\u010d<\/em> (Much Ado About Nothing)<\/em> in 1966. He played his first role in a feature film at the age of thirteen; it was in J\u00e1n Lacko<\/strong>‘s film Heaven Is Far Away<\/em> (1972). Since then, Maro\u0161 Kram\u00e1r has continuously devoted himself to the art of acting on the stage, as well as in front of film and television cameras.<\/p>\n

In 1978 he successfully completed his studies of acting at the Brno Conservatory. He worked for a year in a theatre in Brno and later in the Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra (1979 \u2013 1985). In the period from 1985 to 2008, he was a member of the Drama Theatre of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, where he played various characters in almost thirty productions.<\/p>\n

His work in the film industry is best illustrated by the important films of Slovak cinema – Another Love<\/em> (1985) by Du\u0161an Tran\u010d\u00edk, On the Beautiful, Blue Danube<\/em> (1994) by \u0160tefan Semjan or Suzanne<\/em> (1996) by Du\u0161an Rapo\u0161. Art Film audiences will have the opportunity to see the last of the specified films in this year’s festival program.<\/p>\n

On the television screen, Maro\u0161 Kram\u00e1r has become an indispensable part of Slovak cultural life. In recent years, he has appeared in the successful Slovak series Chat\u00e1ri<\/em> (Cottagers)<\/em> (2022) or Mama na pren\u00e1jom<\/em> (Mum for Rent)<\/em> (2023). He is also extremely active in serial production in the Czech Republic, where viewers could see him in the projects Lajna<\/em> (Line) (2021) and Slne\u010dn\u00e1<\/em> (Sunny)<\/em> (2021). In addition to acting, Kram\u00e1r also established himself as an anchor, especially in the program Z\u00e1zraky pr\u00edrody<\/em> (Miracles of Nature)<\/em>. The actor also acted in dozens of television films and productions.<\/p>\n

The Honorary Actor’s Mission Award will be given to Maro\u0161 Kram\u00e1r for his significant contribution to audiovisual art and his extraordinary influence on domestic and international cinema.<\/p>\n

The Art Film IFF, as an important event annually presents international cinema and recognizes important achievements in film. The Actor’s Mission Award is one of the highest awards of this festival and has been awarded in the past to personalities from the film environment, such as Franco Nero, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Em\u00edlia V\u00e1\u0161\u00e1ryov\u00e1, Ladislav Chud\u00edk or Zuzana Kronerov\u00e1. Last year, actresses Eva Holubov\u00e1 and Zdena Studenkov\u00e1 received the award.<\/p>\n
