{"id":2551,"date":"2010-06-21T08:32:00","date_gmt":"2010-06-21T07:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.artfilmfest.sk\/en\/blog\/uncategorized\/2010\/06\/a-few-questions-for\/"},"modified":"2016-02-08T12:38:06","modified_gmt":"2016-02-08T11:38:06","slug":"a-few-questions-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iffartfilm.com\/en\/blog\/highlights\/2010\/06\/a-few-questions-for\/","title":{"rendered":"A FEW QUESTIONS FOR&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Is it difficult to find a role in Romania, or to appear in a film in general?<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><\/span><\/b> <span lang=\"EN-US\">It is really complicated, because we make roughly twenty films a year.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">On the other hand, every year the university sends about forty students into the professional world who want to act in a film or onstage, and that number is rather large for the size of our market.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span> <b><span lang=\"EN-US\">What was your education like?<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><\/span><\/b> <span lang=\"EN-US\">Personally, I first wanted to be a singer, so I went to the conservatory.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">I sang at the opera in Bucharest, but then I wanted to be an actor.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">That\u2019s why I transferred to the secondary school of acting, where I spent four years, and now I\u2019m in my second year at university.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">In a few months, probably in September, I\u2019ll begin working on a new film, <i>Lover Boy<\/i>, with director Catalin Mitulescu<\/span>. <b><span lang=\"EN-US\">How do you see the Romanian New Wave?<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><\/b> <span lang=\"EN-US\">I think we have good stories and talented directors.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">We love our audiences, and we want to show them something special.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Life in Romanian is alright, but we&#8217;re also afflicted by lots of problems, which we want to share with people onscreen. <\/span> <b><span lang=\"EN-US\">And what is Romania\u2019s biggest problem?<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><\/span><\/b> <span lang=\"EN-US\">Now it\u2019s money, particularly for my grandparents, because they\u2019ve had their pensions cut by twenty-six percent.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">But the politicians still get to keep their high salaries.<\/span> <b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Which actor or actress would you most like to work with?<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><\/span><\/b> <span lang=\"EN-US\">In Romania we\u2019ve got lots of talented actors who I don\u2019t know personally, and who don\u2019t know me personally.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">We get to know each other on-site.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">But I would love to act alongside big-name stars like Al Pacino or Robert De Niro.<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is it difficult to find a role in Romania, or to appear in a film in general?
