{"id":2032,"date":"2009-05-14T16:50:00","date_gmt":"2009-05-14T15:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.artfilmfest.sk\/blog\/aktuality\/2009\/05\/art-film-fest-laureate-isabelle-huppert-heads-jury-at-cannes\/"},"modified":"2016-02-08T13:12:42","modified_gmt":"2016-02-08T12:12:42","slug":"art-film-fest-laureate-isabelle-huppert-heads-jury-at-cannes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iffartfilm.com\/en\/blog\/uncategorized\/2009\/05\/art-film-fest-laureate-isabelle-huppert-heads-jury-at-cannes\/","title":{"rendered":"Art Film Fest Laureate Isabelle Huppert Heads Jury at Cannes!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Cannes<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, the world\u2019s most prestigious film festival, is as of yesterday in full swing.\u00a0 <\/span>Art Film Fest\u2019s organizers are present as well.\u00a0 Another point of interest is that at the helm of <span lang=\"EN-GB\">Cannes\u2019<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> main jury, which determines the winner of the pre-eminent Palme d\u2019Or prize, is the French actress Isabelle Huppert.<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">The same Isabelle Huppert who in 2007 personally attended Art Film Fest and accepted the Actor\u2019s Mission Award.\u00a0 <\/span>And who on Tren\u010dianske Teplice\u2019s Bridge of Fame personally fixed a brass plaque bearing her name, which will forever commemorate her. <span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cIt is a form of appreciation, a gesture, which brings me joy.\u00a0 <\/span>For me, the plaque on the Bridge of Fame is just as precious as, say, one\u2019s name on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood,\u201d she acknowledged at Art Film Fest. <span lang=\"EN-GB\">Huppert has also been awarded at the festival on the French Riviera whose jury she is heading this year.\u00a0 <\/span>She is most noted for her performances in Claude Chabrol\u2019s pictures and for role as alleged murderess Violette Nozi\u00e9re in the film of the same name, for which she won an award at Cannes.\u00a0 She received yet another award for Best Actress at Cannes in 2001 for the role of Erika Kohut in the drama The Piano Teacher from director Michael Haneke, where she portrayed a spinster music teacher who has an affair with a student. \u00a0\u00a0 <span lang=\"EN-GB\">It is surely an award in itself to chair the jury at Cannes.<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">Huppert had already stepped into the limelight in the 1970s.\u00a0 <\/span>She worked with the renowned exponent of the French New Wave Jean-Luc Godard.\u00a0 Choosing the right films brought her awards from film festivals in Berlin, Cannes and Venice.
