The city of Ko\u0161ice<\/h1>\n

In 2016, IFF ART FILM moved house to Ko\u0161ice, chiefly drawn by the city\u2019s more accommodating infrastructure. The cultural and economic hub of eastern Slovakia, Ko\u0161ice is an ideal location for a film festival.<\/p>\n

Cinemas and cultural venues<\/h2>\n

IFF ART FILM will be held in the centre of Ko\u0161ice. The programme of accompanying events for the wider public will take place on the city\u2019s Hlavn\u00e1 ulica <\/strong>(Main Street). Kunsthalle<\/h2>
Capacity: 550 seats. Kulturpark<\/h2>
Capacity: two screening rooms with 150 seats each. This former military area is now a creative district bristling with life. Veritas<\/h2>
The cinema in Dominican Square with tradition. During the totalitarian regime, it was the memorable Dukla cinema. After the revolution, the Cinefil film club was built on its foundations. Capacity: 300 seats. Kino \u00dasmev is a fully digital cinema with screenings all day, seven days a week. Garden cinema<\/h2>
The magical space hidden in the passage between Hlavn\u00e1 80 and M\u00e4siarska 37 in Ko\u0161ice offers a summer film program complemented by lectures, quizzes and concerts. The garden cinema was first opened in 1956 in the courtyard behind the former Partiz\u00e1n cinema, today’s Small Stage of the State Theatre. It was used for screenings until the mid-1980s. In 2021 it was partially reconstructed and reopened under the leadership of the Cinefil civic association.

Historical Town Hall<\/h2>

Taba\u010dka Kulturfabrik<\/h2>
Taba\u010dka Kulturfabrik is an independent cultural centre with two auditoriums (300 and 80 seats, respectively). Executioner\u2019s Bastion<\/h2>
Executioner\u2019s Bastion, with a capacity of 200 seats, is a historical area from the second half of the 15th century. In the years 1940 – 1943, a replica of R\u00e1koczi’s exile house from Rodosto was built here. Inside of the building you can find an exhibition of firearms and the Bastion Gallery. Kino Mier in Spi\u0161sk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves<\/h2>
Kino Mier is a single-screen cinema with 378 seats in the town of Spi\u0161sk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves. The Amphitheatre<\/h2>
Capacity: 3,000 seats. With seating for 3,000 spectators, Ko\u0161ice\u2019s Amphitheatre has been recognized throughout the region since its construction in 1954. The first summertime film screenings here date back to 1965\u2019s \u201cFilmov\u00fd Festival Pracuj\u00facich\u201d (Workers\u2019 Film Festival), which, after many years in the city\u2019s cinemas, had been relocated to the amphitheatre. For two days, the 2018 Art Film Fest will expand to include the town of Spi\u0161sk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves, with screenings at the cinema Kino Mier, 16\u201317 June 2018.<\/p>\n
